Frames
We know meeting your eyewear needs takes more than a prescription and a set of frames. You can expect consistent, quality products and service when you purchase glasses from us. We have over 500 frames --- we have all types of frames --- we have frames for every need --- we have inexpensive frames and we have designer frames --- one of our frames is right for you!
We carry the latest fashion frames. Several fashion names you may be familiar with: Calvin Klein, Guess, Juicy Couture, Banana Republic, Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Sketchers, Dior, Rampage, Michael Kors, Giorgio Armani, and ProDesign. We also have frame lines that are the hallmarks in the frame industry: Tura, Silhouette, Marchon. We stock the latest fashion statements in frames, including the small plastic frames that are now becoming fashionable on both the East and West coasts. Our frame selection also includes the most light-weight rimless available today. Some of our rimless frames have only three small pieces of metal (two temples and the bridge) and therefore are essentially weightless; the lenses determine the weight of your glasses.
If durability has been a concern for you, we have titanium frames that can be bent into a circle and return to their original shape. Additionally, we carry many frames with spring hinges that stay on better and are more comfortable. We have fit many people with "the best frame I’ve ever had." We also have frames for your special needs, including frames for sunglasses, hobbies and sports. If you have something particular in mind and we don’t have it, we can order it for you. You are welcome to ‘check-out’ 2 - 4 frames to show your family or friends to help you make your final choice.
FASHION
New eyeglass frame shapes, colors and materials have transformed prescription eyeglasses from a vision necessity to a fashion accessory. Our staff does an excellent job in helping select frames for the patient’s face from a number of exclusive manufacturers. Much thought and consideration goes into selecting just the right frame for you.
InVision Eye Care, P.A. now has iPoint! an innovative idea for choosing frames. The iPoint Kiosk provides multimedia demonstrations of frames, premium lens options, and contact lenses to our patients on the computer. The iPoint Kiosk uses high quality digital images to allow our patients to see how they look in various styles of frames and contact lenses. All of this adds up to a cutting-edge experience that allows our patients to purchase the best eyewear available.
One way an individual can determine the most attractive eyewear choice is through face shape and color analysis. There are three keys to choosing the correct eyeglass frame for your face shape:
-The frame shape should contrast with the face shape.
-The frame size should be in scale with the face size
-Eyewear should repeat your personal best feature
Most faces are a combination of shapes and angles; there are seven basic face shapes: round, oval, square, base-down triangle, base-up triangle, oblong and diamond. Our opticians can help you use these guidelines to choose your new eyeglasses:
Round
To make the face appear thinner and longer, try angular narrow eyeglass frames to lengthen the face, a clear bridge that widens the eyes and frames that are wider than they are deep, such as a rectangular shape.
Oval
The oval face is considered to be the ideal shape because of its balanced proportions. To keep the oval’s natural balance, look for eyeglass frames that are as wide as (or wider than) the broadest part of the face, or walnut-shaped frames that are not too deep or too narrow.
Square
A square face has a strong jaw line and a broad forehead, plus the width and length are in the same proportions. To make the square face look longer and soften the angles, try narrow frame styles to soften the face angles, frames that have more width than depth, and narrow ovals.
Base-Down Triangle
The triangular face has a narrow forehead that widens at the cheek and chin areas. To add width and emphasize the narrow upper third of the face, try frames that are heavily accented with color and detailing on the top half or cat-eye shapes.
Base-Up Triangle
This face has a very wide top third and small bottom third. To minimize the width of the top of the face, try frames that are wider at the bottom, very light colors and materials, and rimless frame styles (which have a light, airy effect because the lenses are simply held in place to the temples by a few screws).
Oblong
The oblong face is longer than it is wide and has a long straight cheek line and sometimes a longer nose. To make the face appear shorter and more balanced, try frames that have a top-to-bottom depth, decorative or contrasting temples that add width to the face, or a low bridge to shorten the nose.
Diamond (face)
Diamond-shaped faces are narrow at the eye line and jaw line, and cheekbones are often high and dramatic. This is the rarest face shape. To highlight the eyes and bring out the cheekbones, try frames that have detailing or distinctive brow lines, or try rimless frames or oval and cat-eye shapes.
