Our Staff
Our staff is built on the premise that a caring attitude is the most important aspect of your vision care experience. Any office can offer contact lenses and designer frames. We feel your final satisfaction and enthusiasm for our office will come from the understanding that we all care about you and that we want the best for you. We will work with you to achieve the best fit for your glasses, contacts or other accessories that you may need. We are committed to helping you maintain healthy eyes and the best possible vision. DISPENSING:
Angie
Angie joined our dispensing team in January 2008. She received her ABO certification in 2009. As an optician, she will assist you in choosing a frame style and lens option to best meet your vision and lifestyle needs. Angie is currently a therapist for our office vision therapy program. Her and her husband have lived in Fergus Falls for several years. They have two daughters. When not at work she enjoys hunting, camping, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her family. |

Doreen
Doreen has been with us since 1984. As with most of our staff, Doreen has filled several positions in our office, primarily in dispensing and contact lenses. Doreen frequently teaches insertion and removal of contact lenses, and assists patients with questions. One of Doreen's gifts is teaching; she will explain the new procedures carefully and thoroughly when you are learning how to handle your new contact lenses. Doreen assists in the dispensary and will be a great help to you in selecting that new frame style that is just right for you. In 1999 Doreen passed her American Board of Opticianry Certification. Doreen and her husband enjoy being with their children and grandchildren.

Leslie
Leslie joined our office in 2000 as a frame stylist. She enjoys fitting frames that will compliment you and also prove to be functional. Leslie will keep you updated on the latest optical technology that best serves you. Leslie also works with our frame reps and enjoys selecting new styles. When not working, Leslie enjoys gardening, sports, church and family activities. Leslie and her husband live south of Fergus Falls, with their children. |

RECEPTION:
Sue
Sue is part of our receptionist team, joining our office in 2002. Sue was raised in Detroit Lakes but she and her family have lived in Fergus Falls for several years. She quickly became an invaluable part of our office, multitasking with a smile at the reception desk and learning her job quickly. When Sue is away from work she spends time with her family, gardening and lawn work, painting and refinishing furniture and especially enjoys her two grandsons! |

Kay
Kay joined our reception department in 2007. She and her family moved here from Southern Minnesota in 2001 and are happy to make Fergus Falls their home. Kay and her husband enjoy gardening, birding, hunting, fishing and "designing on a dime". We have made use of her design skills on several office special events. She keeps in touch with their daughter, who is in the US Army.

Sarie
Sarie joined our office in 2007. Sarie recently moved to Fergus Falls from Cape Town (South Africa). She has quickly learned the skills needed to become a great asset to our office. Sarie will guide you through checking in before your exam, answering any questions you may have and will assist you with insurance and billing protocol. Sarie and her husband enjoy time with sports and family.

TECHNICIANS:
Sara
Sara is one of our screeners, working with us since 2007. She has already passed her first level certification, Certified Para Optometric and is preparing for level 2. Sara previously worked as an optician and brings this knowledge to our office. Sara will greet you with a smile and then get your complete medical and vision history. She does several of the initial tests as well as our supplemental testing, including visual fields, GDx and retinal photos. Sara has passed the written test for her CPOT certification and will perform the practical exam in the near future. She also assists with contact lenses. She lives in Fergus Falls with her husband and their three active children. |

Mary
Mary has worked for us since 2000, initially as an optician but now as an optometric technician. She previously worked in the operating room at Lake Region Hospital so has a health care background that has been helpful to our office. Mary does pre-exam medical and vision history as well the initial vision tests. She frequently records for Dr. Smith. Mary also is proficient on all our supplemental testing instruments: visual fields, GDx, retinal photos and others. Mary is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant and is preparing for her Certified Paraoptometric Technician testing. In her home life Mary enjoys her dogs, traveling, golf and time with her family. |

Rachael
Rachael joined our clinic in April 2009. She is one of our technicians. She has already passed her first level certification, Certified Para Optometric and is preparing for level 2. Rachael previously worked as a CNA and brings this knowledge to our office. She is originally from Pelican Rapids, MN. |

BUSINESS OFFICE:
Wally
Wally fills many roles in our office. First and foremost he is our accountant and bookkeeper. He has been helpful in organizing our office. Wally is also responsible for some of our computer maintenance. Wally is a very talented musician; you will find him most weekends entertaining at area events. He and his wife live near Underwood. |

Dawn
Dawn joined our clinic in March 2010. She is an insurance specialist and completes our insurance submissions and some bookkeeping. Dawn brings 25 years of optical experience to our clinic. She submits all insurance claims and will gladly answer any questions you may have about your individual coverage. Dawn and her husband, Frank live in Fergus Falls. They enjoy Nascar, fishing and classic cars.
